Dr. Andrew K.C. Wong is a co-founder of Pattern Discovery and the principal innovator of the software intelligence model that drives our core technology.
He is currently a distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Systems Design Engineering and the Founding Director of the Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence laboratory (PAMI Lab) at the University of Waterloo. He is a world-renowned expert in knowledge-based systems, computer vision, intelligent robotics and machine intelligence.
Dr. Wong is also one of the founders, president (1993-1996) and former chairman (1993-1997) of Virtek Vision International Corporation, a publicly traded, Waterloo-based leader in laser vision technology, which was rated by 'The Financial Post' magazine as Canada's 6th fastest growing high tech company in 1998. In 1999, it was ranked by Profit Magazine as the 4th fastest growing company in Canada.
Dr. Wong holds a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Hong Kong University.
A partner with Gowlings since 1995, Thomas Hunter practices in the area of corporate, commercial and technology law as head of the firm's Waterloo Region Business Law Group. His particular areas of focus include assisting start-up and growth oriented companies, mergers and acquisitions and all aspects of equity and debt financing.
Daniel Lam is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors of Hong Kong and a veteran in sales, marketing, and business development. With a degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Daniel has spent the first part of his career in marketing and sales training. Later he formed a number of businesses in the USA, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia, with the objective of providing customized,knowledge based programming to clientele.
Currently, Daniel Lam is the founder and CEO of Learning Rendezvous Ltd. (LRL), formerly Learning Media Group. With over 100,000 academic programs and training resources supplied to colleges and universities worldwide, LRL is one of the largest multi-media educational resource providers in the world.
Dr. Yang Wang is the co-founder of Pattern Discovery and the inventor of the patented data mining and data analysis technology that form the foundation of Production Intelligence. Since founding Pattern Discovery, Dr. Wang has managed and contributed to both R&D projects and consulting projects with various clients.
Earlier in his career, he was the deputy director (1992) of the R&D department of the Chinese International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology (CIAPST).
Dr. Wang received his B.Eng. (1989) in Electronic Engineering and his M.Eng. (1991) in Systems Engineering from Tshinghua University, Beijing, China. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1997 with his Ph.D. in Systems Design Engineering. Dr. Wang is an adjunct professor in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and a member of IEEE and ACM.
